Water Sensitive SA is partnering with Water Sensitive Cities Australia (WSCA) to deliver a lifecycle costs database to support better understanding and estimation of costs at each stage of the WSUD asset lifecycle.
Research and industry experience from across Australia consistently identifies the need for comprehensive and accurate lifecycle cost information for water sensitive solutions. In part, this call for better information on costs is to counter the persistent perception that maintenance costs for water sensitive solutions are a significant barrier to their widespread adoption.
In 2022, WSCA engaged with WSUD practitioners nationally to determine the scope of the proposed lifecycle cost database project within the lifecycle cost needs analysis report PDF | 555 kb. To find out more about the industry feedback that has helped to define the project visit the WSCA website.
