Over the past decade, Water Sensitive SA has built the capacity of South Australians to deliver high-performing water sensitive urban design (WSUD).
Now in our 11th year, our focus has expanded – bringing everyone involved in the planning and management of water across the entire water cycle together under the banner of integrated water management (IWM).
We are South Australia’s IWM capacity-building program. Our role is to support individuals, organisations, and communities to make IWM business as usual, because managing water wisely, in all its forms, is essential to the liveability, resilience, and sustainability of our cities, towns, and regions.
We help South Australians create cooler, greener, and wilder places to live – places that not only support biodiversity and ecosystem health, but also safeguard communities as the climate changes. We believe that by making space for water and life in urban planning, we are also making space for future generations to thrive.
Water Sensitive SA provides the latest WSUD information, training on how to apply it properly, an opportunity to gain valuable insight from the experiences of other, guidelines, tools and training to inspire and facilitate the delivery of best practice WSUD and IWM.
Every capital works project, infrastructure renewal and new development represents an opportunity for smarter water management that contributes to the creation of a more liveable, water sensitive community.
