To give effect to your climate change adaptation plan or water sensitive urban design strategy within Development Plans look to the City of Port Phillip (Vic) Planning scheme that recognises the need for new developments to create microclimate through water sensitive design. Planning policy Objective 22.12.2 is “to reintegrate urban water into the landscape to facilitate a range of benefits including microclimate cooling, local habitat and provision of attractive spaces for community use and wellbeing” (Refer to policy 22.12 Stormwater Management, Water Sensitive Urban Design).
