Dorset Avenue
Colonel Light Gardens

Stormwater is directed along the kerb and gutter to a stormwater entry pit (SEP).  In a conventional stormwater network this would then transfer the stormwater to the nearest trunk drain or waterway via a network of underground pipes.  In Dorset Avenue, Colonel Light Gardens, the base of the SEPs consist of 20mm aggregate allowing for infiltration into the sub-soil.  The SEP is connected to 8.6 m length of 150mm diameter perforated pipe within a 750mm deep soakage trench, located 950 mm below the natural surface level.

The infiltration system within the verge provides passive irrigation and flow management benefits.
