Bristol Street TREENET inlets
Glenelg South

City of Holdfast Bay have installed TREENET inlets to support young trees

A series of TREENET inlet systems (water inlets) have been installed along sections of the kerb where juvenile trees are establishing.

These inlets direct first flush stormwater into an engineered system within the nature strip for slow infiltration into the soil, rather than down the drain and out to sea.

Take a look at a video of the Bristol Street TREENET inlets in action.

Directing water down into the verge encourages juvenile trees to form deeper roots parallel to the infrastructure, rather than having to seek water at surface level.

Deep tree roots keeps the footpaths safe and protects the kerb from surface root damage.
