While the management of stormwater is a key focus for Water Sensitive SA, the role of recycled wastewater to improve the amenity and health of our communities is less understood. The Glenelg to Adelaide pipeline (GAP) has been greening our suburbs since 2010.

This CRC for Water Sensitive Cities case study details how this high quality, climate independent water source has delivered benefits well beyond improving the amenity of our parks and sports ovals. Reduced reliance on the River Murray, healthier marine ecosystems, urban cooling and tourism enhancement top the list of value-adds from this alternative water source.
