Cooler, greener, wilder grants program 2024

11 December 2023

The second round of Green Adelaide’s Cooler, greener, wilder grants program is now open. This is a $1 million program exclusively for local councils to undertake projects that deliver greening and cooling outcomes.

Grants of between $25,000 and $200,000 are available to local councils. Councils must provide matching co-contributions (cash and/or in-kind) for any grant funding awarded.

Projects must include water-sensitive urban design and biodiversity-sensitive urban design, in urban settings with high community usage. They can be at the site, street or precinct scale. Projects will improve liveability, biodiversity and climate resilience.

It is anticipated that successful applicants will be notified in May 2024, with projects to be completed by the end of the 2024/2 financial year.

For further information, including Application Guidelines and FAQs, as well as the online Application Portal, visit the Green Adelaide website. There is also a list of successful projects funded in round 1 for some inspiration – including council streetscape upgrades integrating greening, biodiversity-sensitive urban design and water-sensitive urban design.

Applications are open until 5pm Friday 23 February 2024. To discuss further, please contact Green Adelaide on (08) 7424 5760 or by email.
